Melinda R. Short-Russell, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over nineteen years of clinical experience in aesthetics, dermatology, trauma, wound care, research, and complex patient care settings. She provides comprehensive dermatologic care with a strong emphasis on accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and patient education.

Melinda specializes in the evaluation and management of a wide range of dermatologic conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, autoimmune dermatologic diseases, and skin cancers. She performs thorough skin examinations and utilizes dermatoscopy to aid in the early detection and management of malignant and premalignant lesions.

Her procedural experience includes dermatologic biopsies, cryotherapy, electrocautery, lesion removal, and other in-office dermatologic procedures. She also provides treatment planning for both medical and cosmetic dermatology, helping patients achieve healthier skin through individualized care.

Throughout her career, Melinda has worked in dermatology practices and multidisciplinary clinical settings where she has managed diverse patient populations and complex dermatologic conditions. She is known for her compassionate approach, meticulous clinical evaluation, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Melinda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from The George Washington University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Duke University. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (FNP-BC) and remains committed to ongoing education and staying current with advances in dermatologic and aesthetic medicine.
